The poet E. E. Cummings said, “April is a reminder that life is a beautiful, ever-renewing cycle.” As the sun beams and the flowers bloom, it’s easy to appreciate the light and growth around us. As we absorb the light, we also want to spread it for others to see, so this month, we’re showing some appreciation for those who keep us strong and help us grow.
Celebrating Life on the Lines

We begin by celebrating two groups of people without whom any of our crisis intervention services could exist. Next week, April 14-20, we observe National Safety Telecommunicators Week, honoring the workers who take our emergency calls. Right on the heels of this celebratory week, we take April 21-27 to look to our 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline volunteers with gratitude for what they give and how their service impacts others as we celebrate National Volunteer Week.
Lifting Up Lived Experience on Reassurance Line

Another group of trained listeners holds a special place in our hearts this and every month, as well – our Reassurance Line Specialists. Read up on the program and gain insight into the benefits of Reassurance Line both for those receiving supportive calls but also for those making them. And see if you think there might be a place on our Reassurance Line team for you or someone you know.
Paws for Positive Mental Health

But not all of our helpers are human. We take some time to delve into the benefits of including pets in our lives. Read on to find some interesting statistics on how pets can impact our health – both physical and mental – and inspire a little more spring in our step. You’ll also learn what to consider if you’re thinking of welcoming a pet into your life.
As always, thanks for joining us here, staying informed, and keeping us close. We’re grateful for you, and we hope these updates are serving you well.
